BLOCK71—Our humble beginnings
BLOCK71 began in 2011 as a collaboration between NUS Enterprise, Singtel Innov8, and the Media Development Authority of Singapore. The goal was simple — to build a space where game-changers could meet, build, and scale. No red tape, no gatekeepers — just raw ambition and a whole lot of hustle.
From that gritty little block on Ayer Rajah Crescent, we’ve grown into a global network of innovation hubs across 11 cities — from Singapore to Bandung, Saigon to China, Tokyo to Silicon Valley. Wherever the next frontier is, we’re already there — backing courageous founders.
From One Block to Global Impact
Since 2011, we...
• Incubated over 1,600 startups
• Witnessed the rise of 10 Unicorns, including Ajaib, Biofourmis, Carousell, and Hasura
• Expanded into 11 global cities: Singapore, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Tokyo, Nagoya, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Chongqing, Saigon, Silicon Valley
• Partnered with over 100 VCs, corporates, and research institutions
• Helped startups raise over $2 billion USD in venture funding
• Built a network of mentors, operators, and founders that spans industries and borders
We're not slowing down. We're scaling up.
